A Typical Day At Our High Caliber Lodge

Whether you arrive on a private jet or drive your own vehicle from the USA, we are confident that the lodge and ranch will be more than you expected. Typically, upon your arrival, once you are settled into your room (the lodge sleeps 10) your guide assists you in sighting in your rifle at our private gun range. Your first hunt day begins an hour or so before day break with a light breakfast and fresh coffee. You and your guide head out to the ranch. The bulls always move a lot early in the morning and late in the evening, so we try and cover as much ground walking or quading early looking for your trophy.

"The Total Experience"

The afternoons are traditionally spent glassing the river hills and valleys for giant elk bedded in the aspens or willows. A field lunch is provided. At the end of the day we head back to the lodge for appetizers and a wonderfully prepared meal by our chef. You can relax with a coffee or wine by our fireplace or read a book in our Great Room overlooking Blackfoot Valley.

At our Deluxe tent camp your day should begin at the sound of the bulls bugling. Your guide will have fresh coffee and a light breakfast ready to go to start your day. Your camp is located right on the ranch so your adventure begins as soon as you leave camp. Most of the morning's activities finds the elk in meadows or grassy plains feeding and bugling. Spotting and stalking various bulls will take up most of your time. Once the bulls lay down for the afternoon you head back to the camp and have a hot breakfast/lunch prepared for you by our cook. The afternoons are spent glassing the river hills for those elusive big bulls. Again, once the bulls start moving late afternoon till dark, spotting and stalking consumes your time. During the afternoon a "siesta" or fishing on the river for walleye can help pass the afternoon "slow-time". At dark you head back to another great home cooked meal and enjoy a coffee or drink by our campfire. Your day ends the way it begins - to the sound of the bulls bugling.
