Jay,Thank you for a great time in KY. The hunting was great. I saw 6 different bucks in under 3 hours of hunting, with the 3rd buck being this nice 13 point that I harvested. HERE ARE THE FACTS: In order for a whitetail deer to reach its greatest potential it must have 3 things: Age,high quality food and proper genetics.The lack of quality food is not an issue in Kentucky. It takes 3-5 years for a buck to reach full body size. We shoot only mature Bucks and have a penalty for shooting our young deer...Our feed program and method of deer management is producing some Monster deer and it gets better year after year !!!

Now, ONE IN EVERY 8 BUCKS IN KENTUCKY reaches the age required to PRODUCE RECORD BOOK ANTLERS. In 2006 Kentucky continued to produce record book deer that it has become known for over the past few years. As a result of intensive management Kentucky now produces 15-20 whitetail deer per year that are B&C class animals. In 2006 a Top Ten typical whitetail taken in all of North America came from the state of Kentucky. In 2006, over 25 Bucks were turned in that scored 160 or better with the Top Typical scoring 187 3/8 and the Top Non-Typical scoring 249 3/8 !!
